Dr. Paula Kahumbu

Dr. Paula Kahumbu

CEO of Wildlife Direct - Executive Producer

Dr. Kahumbu has been serving as a consulting producer since early 2020 at the outset of this project. She is the CEO of WildlifeDirect, the creator of the HANDS OFF OUR ELEPHANTS campaign, and a 2021 National Geographic Explorer of the Year. She has a Ph.D. in Ecology from Princeton University, where she studied elephants in coastal Kenya.

Caryn produced Won’t You Be My Neighbor? - the critically acclaimed and top-grossing documentary film of 2018 released by Focus Features. She received a 2016 News and Documentary Emmy Award for her role as Co-Producer on Best of Enemies and she was Associate Producer on the Academy Award and Grammy Award-winning documentary, 20 Feet from Stardom (2013).
